Kates camp Recount

On Wednesday the 20th of february Makaraka School has just  been to Whangara on their annual year 5,6s leadership camp. Well they were their they participated on lots of activities. But the one that was the blast was eeling ! Every one couldn't wait until the Teachers had let the  information out about Eeling.

Excitedly  they hopped in the mini vans and the cars . up next the driver then drove fast over the bumps and with the loud noises in the vecilles. And or heads hitting the windows. Finally as quick as the wind they  were there in the nice cool breeze and the sound of birds humming . The students were so excited to be at Whangara they were so hippo It was like they had just ate two bags of lollies . Wouldn't that be funny. But anyway   they had a big smile on there face for the starting of camp. I said in my head that's a great way to start. The students twisted and pulled to get the hinakis out of mini vans .

Then they were singlefile the students took  a little tiki tour down the hill and there we were staring right at the fresh flowing river. The teachers told us that it was time to found  our groups. Up next you had to put the squishy stinky bait in and then we tied the strings on tight. Off it went in the river max carefully put it in. Then my group wanted to support others . THE SECRET OF OUR SUCCESS IS THAT WE NEVER GIVE Up this is a quote by Wilma mankiller. It was 9 :30 at night and they  were executed because they had done an awesome walk cooks cove. But the never give up. My group then walked  back over to where our hinakis were set up after being supportive and cheering on others through out the night.
And there there was a giant juicy Eel we are the champions i said to my self. But before we could have even lifted the trap up. OHHH no it had escape. At leased we can still say we saw one in our trap.
Keep my saying in mind and if you need it just think about it and then it will come true. And believe in yourself that you can do it and achieve awards through out Eeling . I believe that the year 5,6s had a blast of a time as bella said she cant wait until she sleeps in her own bed wont that just be a relief.
